It might be the time of the year for mulled wine or perhaps a hot toddy; and there is nothing wrong with either. On the other hand, I am fully convinced you never go wrong with a refreshing margarita cocktail in your hand.
When entertaining during the festive season last year, this creamy white coconut margarita was an absolute hit. It’s packed with tropical flavours, and super smooth thanks to the coconut cream. And it certainly looks the festive part too. Don’t you agree?
Since I did not share the recipe last year, I thought it would be about time.
How to make creamy coconut margarita
This delicious margarita is the perfect cocktail for entertaining this festive season. It follows the classic margarita recipe, but it’s made with the addition of velvety coconut cream. It sure is a crowd pleaser, so save the recipe for your next holiday get-together.
Serves 4
140 ml Silver Tequila
80 ml lime juice
90 ml Cointreau
180 ml coconut cream
400 g ice cubes
coconut flakes, lime wheel, cranberries, and rosemary sprigs for garnishing
Rime a margarita glass with coconut flakes.
Add tequila, lime juice, Cointreau, coconut cream, and ice cubes to a blender. Blend until smooth then strain into the margarita glass.
Garnish with the lime wheel, cranberries, and the rosemary sprigs.
